Growing up in a small town called Richmond, BC playing soccer, hockey, tennis, basketball and piano, I spent most of my summers in the wilderness eating moss off trees (because my brother told me so) or in the city climbing fences and breaking into my neighbors backyards to see how others lived.
All-boys school then to the University of British Columbia where I slept through most of my classes (because I had a full-time job, not they were easy). I took a bunch of courses in Math and graduated with a Bachelors in Commerce (specialization in Logistics/Operations Management) which didn’t prepare me much for my in Finance. What did prepare me was making a ton of money trading equity options and then losing everything just prior to graduating.
Did a short stint in Vancouver, then moved out to Hong Kong where I’d spend the next 11 years in the deep end of derivatives working for ING, Barclays and finally Morgan Stanley for my longest run and last hurrah. Want to talk correlation on the time to default of a basket of synthetic assets? Go away.
Jumped to SF to study under Randall Churchill and become a Clinical Hypnotherapist (this was amazing and though I wouldn’t recommend it for others, I’d recommend it for you). Started a Luxury Events Agency with my buddy in HK where he and the team did all the work and I got invited to the events (finally!).
Brought a team together in late 2011 and started an amazing Interest Network called Notey.com that’s changing the way we communicate, streamlining and enhancing our online experience in meaningful ways.
I love challenges and I love exploring. In August 2012, I did one of the most amazing things and got married to someone I love even more.
You know lots about me and you’re here because you want to be. So now read my blog, get involved with us over at Notey.com and be beacon of positivity wherever you go…
